2000 4wd ABS sensor/harness

Bought the truck a little over a month ago. ABS light has been on since purchase. Finally got time to look underneath and the dang ABS sensor harness had come undone got caught in the tire and ripped in half.. The stealership wants $250 for a new one. I went to the junkyard this morning and got one off a 99 2wd for less than 5 bucks. They are NOT exact matches. But will this one work? Does the sensor for my 4wd carry different resistance than the one from the 2wd? Called the service department this morning and they said the guy that could answer that got married this past week and won't be back til monday. I'd like to resolve this by this p.m. if possible. Thanks for any help..

If you check on, say, Rock Auto, the listings call for separate sensors for 2WD and 4WD. So, I would say you need to find a different sensor.

i replaced mine, not that hard. pull the tire, caliper and rotor. then the little bolt holding the sensor in. Replace, then repeat in reverse... mine was like 130 off of ebay. But, but a little messup on ebay caused me to buy and receive a 2wd sensor. the dealer then replaced it with a 4wd and made ebay pay for the rest! i was happy!

Thanks fellas. I guess I'll just keep checking the scrap yards for a 4x4 model, I have other vehicles to drive until. I see no need to spend $100+ on the part when I can get it used for next to nothing. Thanks again for the help!

Depends on how soon you need it. Courier or mail? Most for overnight would be around 45.00

Cheapest delivery possible. I don't need to use the truck anytime soon so I'm in no rush.
