Ok. Thank you again. And my high school has a autoshop that will fix anything as long i buy the parts. But do you think i should trust a bunch of high schoolers with my truck? They have two teachers, but still. Also, does motorcraft make any good plugs to increase horse power? If im going to replace them, might as well get the good stuff

It's the teachers I'd be concerned with. Since its by their direction your vehicle will be worked on. Listen to what they say, write down some of what they say, take notes and post here. They're worthiness will either shine or fail lol. Serious, we can tell.

Don't worry about horse power, just let that exit from your mind. Get it running correctly. That's what pays off, no shortcuts or brainstorms. Your not going to achieve more horsepower without somewhat major modification. After its running correctly, you can invest in a good tuner, headers and intake combined. BUT, you need it healthy before thinking of anything like that.

Motorcraft Spark plugs and
Visteon coils DG508 (eBay,Amazon set of 8)

SP479. Do not use antiseize compound on the threads and torque them to 28 ft/lb.

My 2 shop teachers were ASE Master Technicians. Regardless, they were really cool about dropping by and asking questions, so just check their creds.

It's iffy if you want to trust those highschoolers. I forgot why, but back in '09 we covertly removed the driveshaft from some kid's Dodge Ram and hid it in the pile of driveshafts we kept by the shop. When school let out, we were laughing our asses off watching him put the truck in drive and rev the engine. After much chasing around the parking lot, we reinstalled it for him... Ah, good times. Prolly nothing to worry about in your case.

Yep, Motorcraft platinums. The only other plug generally recommended are Denso Iridium IT16, but they're expensive. They're supposed to last longer than OEM, but you can get 100,000 miles out of some Motorcraft plugs.

Ok just got back from a guy who owns his one man shop and is ASE certified in Ford. He said that it is just a misfire coming from #7. So i have decided to replace all the plugs at least. What plugs to you guys suggest for best horsepower and take off? Also, do the coils help with horsepower and take offs? If so, what are your suggestions for those. Thanks again for all your help.
