My 2001 Ford F-150 7700 Series 7-lug
My 2001 Ford F-150 7700 Series 7-lug
I just got this truck a couple weeks ago its a 2001 Ford F150 XLT FX4 it's the 7700 series which is the heavy duty F150 I guess you could say. It has the 7-lug setup on it which means I don't have many choices for rims. I plan on in the near future putting a 6inch BDS suspension lift on it with 35x12.50 Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains with 20x9 Fuel Hostage B rims with 5inch back spacing. But do yall think chrome would look better? Does anybody know if I will be able to clear the tires without rubbing? If not my next plan was going to do a 3inch body lift but I don't know if that would create too much of a gap making the tires look small. But here's a couple pictures of it an the rim an tire setup I want. Lemme know whatcha think an what size tire an rim ill be able to clear with the 6inch lift.
Thanks

Thanks

Youll clear the 35's with the lift. I say go with the black rims. Here's my old truck before I sold it.. Before I sold it, I was contemplating switching to black rims.
These were 37x13.5's on a 6" fabtech lift with trimming.

Just because you can fit them doesn't mean you should. Yes, larger tires look awesome, but unless you are driving a road queen, 35's is the largest you should run on the 6" lift. I will post pics of my stock fender trim whenever I get a chance. They are messed up from when I decided to run too large a tire. Toyz truck setup looks good, but if you look at the clearance of the rear tires, I bet he couldn't hook up a trailer to that thing or even hit a bump.
Thanks for the input guys! An I think I decided on 35x12.50 Toyo Mud Terrains as I don't wanna do any trimming. As for lift I'm going to do a 6inch Fabtech, rims are gonna be 18x9 Fuel Hostage B's an another question I want my tires to stick out a little bit so how much offset should I get? I like how toyz tires stick out.

Says for 04 an newer.....so would have to run wheel spacers..
I need to find who makes GOOD spacers. They make awsome wheels for the 04 an newer 7700s

I think you'll find that the market for spacers/adapters for this bolt pattern is pretty slim. I did a quick search and the first spacer I found is dual-purpose for the 7x150 pattern and the Tundra 5x150. I didn't like the look of them with the sliding holes and what not.
Hmm I never thought of someone slapping a sticker on there lol ill have to check that out, but as far as the fuel 7 lug rims shouldn't they fit the old 7 lugs too? Why do I need a spacer/adapter, an also as far as this truck goes it's gonna be put on hold cause of my 1986 Ford F-250 I'm building, Finnally getting around to finishing that truck lol
the design of the front end differs in the two styles of trucks. either the lug pattern is slightly different, or the newer wheels will sit too close too the frame causing rubbing. if you look at the old style 7 lug vs the new style the bolt holes are set deeper into the wheel, causing it to sit out a little wider off of the vehicle. the newer ones would be too close.
