Hey Im here to try and fix the issue myself before taking it to a shop and dishing out more money then needed..

So far to try and fix the issue I have checked all fuses with a power tester and replaced the relay inside the cab.

I took a video to show what happens when I give it a try.

The last 6 months to a year it has been working intermittently, but maybe 2 months ago it just stopped working and hasnt moved since then.

Its been way too long without my window working so I need to get this fixed!

Any ideas?

I had a guy today tell me its probably the master switch that went bad, but when I look online they come in sets so how could the left be out but not the right?

or would he have been talking about the electrical components that connect to the switch?

anyways heres the vid so hopefully someone has ran into the same problem and solved it without having to take it in!

Im pretty handy when it comes to tasks like this so if I need to solder a connection or rip open the door panel it wont be too much of a challenge.

Had that issue with my 97, intermittent at first, then would not go down at all. Replaced the master switch, no help. I ended up tracing the problem to the GEM body control module thing under the dash, which I did not want to spend the $$ to replace. I found a wiring modification that you can do that will bypass the auto-down feature, but now the window goes up/down nicely. I can't remember the thread, but if you search on 'power window' you should find it.

 

My dads truck had a problem with the door switch; that can definitely be a culprit. One other reason it might not roll down is a bad motor. My drivers door motor is on the way out; constantly makes a horrible noise on the way down. I'll run it til she completely dies though, but don't rule out the motor completely...still a possibility.
