I can offer the same advise to you. Replace the thermostat with a Motorcraft one and make sure your coolant level is full and there is no air in the system.

The heater core is a bear to do on these trucks, the whole dash has to be removed so I would exhaust all other options first.

If your coolant temp is not going up on your dash then it is probably the thermostat. Tonnes of problems with aftermarket ones too, fyi. I just replaced mine.
