2000 F150 Turn Signal Issues Even After a New Harness

Well, I just got a 2000 F150 XLT Sport 3 weeks ago. So far I have replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump and filter, coil packs, spark plugs, and battery, so I'm not a real satisfied customer right now. Now that I have all of the major issues out of the way, I am working on getting the turn signals to work. I drive with the steering wheel tilted all the way down, so of course the blinkers stopped working a few days after I got the truck. I replaced the flasher relay, thinking that was the problem, and still no luck. After reading through the forums, I came across the wiring issue to the multifunction switch, so I raised the wheel back up and tried the turn signals. Sure enough, they worked.

I took the column apart and found that the little plastic clips holding the wires into the connector were all broken out and the wires could just freely slide out of the clip. I went down to my Ford dealer today and picked up a new pigtail ($45!!) and figured it was an easy fix. Well... I just spliced in the new pigtail, plugged the harness back in- and still no turn signals. I triple checked my wiring, so I know that's all correct, and tilting the wheel makes no difference at all now. Before, the blinkers just didn't work at all, now they blink 1 time, then stop working. The hazards have worked just fine this whole time. So the wiring and harness clip are just fine... any other ideas?? I'm at a loss now, this is so freaking frustrating. Thanks for your help.
