Why I need Traction bars

I am so pissed off at my self right now...............

Both of my rear blocks have chunks missing, both shocks have HUGE dents in the axle side of their bodies, and my U-joint is beat to ****..........

I almost wanted to puke......

When you extend the U bolts that far the springs have less control of axle windup so those things happen when a lot of torque is applied.
You also need to be concerned about the U joint pulling to far out of the transmission tailshaft housing.
Good luck.

well my plan at this point is full size leaf springs ( 5" Skyjacker Leafs) and add my 2" add-a-leaf back. then go with shorter u-bolts

aluminum lift or lowering blocks have always been prone to cracking too

it's really the wrong place to use aluminum sandwiched between to very active pieces of steel

Bars , -or a Hotchkiss set up. Summit sells bars pretty cheap, - they work !
There's cheap set ups or the more expensive ones, -both work. - Could of been worse, -as Bluegrass mentioned...

Get with performance metal fab (PMF) and they can build you a set of traction blocks. its a block with integrated mount for traction bars. beefy as **** and will handle what you can throw at them.

and thats why I got traction bars, I was also losing a lot of power to the ground. my blocks are solid steel though...maybe 15-20lbs each.

Drop the coin, get leafs first. I have reason to need traction bars still with my 8" alcan leafs. You pushin 400+ to the wheels? I doubt it, so just get some quality leaf packs built. Til you get something REAL under the *** of that truck, you're wasting your time..

You're a prime example as to why blocks should be immediately discarded.

Ford wanted 1,333.33 for the drive shaft.

Autozone ordered me one for 307 + a core fee.

there goes my trail rig build.
