Can i put a 2001 4.6 L cv motor in a f150

Hi i have a 2001 crown vic iterceptor that i have done a little work to but just recently wrecked the car. The motor and tranny are still pretty much barnd new from the rebuild in march. My question is im thinking about taking the motor and putting it in a truck. Is this possible? And if so what truck will the motor and tranny bolt up to. Any ideas let me know thank you

are you swapping from a 4.2 v6 and going to 4.6 v8? or 4.6 v-8 to 4.6 v8, if so its a direct swap.

Im trying to find a rolling body that had a 4.6 in it and put mine in it. Do i have to stay close in year of truck to be compatable with my engine? If so what would be a good year?

I think you would be okay with any 99-03. I also think you may have to use a truck intake manifold.

In order to use the Crown Victoria motor in a truck you need to change the following:

-Intake manifold
-Valve covers
-Oil pan
-Exhaust manifolds
-Wiring harness

You may also have to swap out the alternator, power steering pump, and AC compressor depending on what the engine comes with and what the truck comes with. All CV motors used a 6-rib serpentine system whereas some F-150s/Expeditions used an 8-rib system. You may also need to change the torque converter depending on what transmission was in the CV and what is in the F-150. I believe with the 4.6 you could have an M5OD (in which case you need a clutch and not a torque converter), a 4R70W or a 4R100.

Basically, if you're looking to get this engine into a truck, you're going to need to find a truck with a complete 4.6 already in it that has some defect rendering it unusable as is.

I've never seen a 4R100 with a 4.6.
