How to Find Out History of My Truck

Would anyone happen to know if there is a specific way to find out the history of my 2000 Ford F-150? I really would like to know, and can't contact the previous owner. I don't know who it is.

Maybe there is a way to "look it up" using the VIN?? Any & All input is appreciated!!

My VIN # is 2FTRX08L4YCA73409

What are the recalls?? Have they been attended to?

Basically, anything that has been done to it (ie. service procedures, plug change, engine rebuild/swap, tranny rebuild/swap, A/C Unit repair, etc.). I would just like to know what I am up against as far as longevity, what has been done, what might need to be done in the future, etc.

The Carfax would just show Collision, Theft, etc. That would also be nice to know, but I really don't care about paying for that service since it looks & drives great. Someone spoke of an OASIS Report regarding Ford vehicles. What is that and how could I get one? THANKS GUYS!

How many miles are on it? Those things you would more than likely need to get from the previous owner.

Just rolled over to 201k. I bought it at a seizure auction when it had 176k last June. Haha, yeah....I've been driving the heck outta it. Don't know the previous owner.

It's probably time for a plug change then. These plugs ususally last about 100k miles also what is do is change all the fluids so that you know that they've been done for sure.

Yeah, when I had the 2 COPs changed last year, the guy said the plugs looked like new so he left them.

What is an OASIS Report? Can it tell me anything relevant?

Google OASIS report and you will find info. Appears it only reports warranty work done on vehicle.

Just catch up on maintenance and work from there! Without records it is impossible to know what's going on with it. However if you take care of it the past will matter less and less as you maintain it yourself.

OASIS only goes back 10 years and only covers work done by a Ford dealer. You probably won't find anything helpful in it.

You need to take it in RIGHT NOW - the cruise control recall hasn't been done. This is a fire hazard.

I tried clicking the link regarding the recall, but it didn't work. Also, can someone on here run an OASIS Report easily? Knowing the work done to the truck through the dealership and warranty work done, would be VERY NICE to know. Whether it is 1 thing or 10 things, you still get a history report.

THANKS GUYS~

The link should take you to a page where you can enter your VIN. If you still can't load it, GET IT TO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY. I'm serious - without the recall your truck could burn to the ground WHILE PARKED.

The dealer will run an OASIS when you take it in for the recall.
