I have a 99 5.4 stepside.It was my grandfathers and he passed it down to me. Id like to customize it in his memory. Any suggestions on where to start? Cheap mods (going paycheck to paycheck currentyl with not a lot extra to spend) thanks for the advice!

The obvious would be wheels and tires.. Paint to match parts depending on the color..
Are you looking for engine mods?
Search the gotts mod for starters, costs about $15

 

It's got a high clock. 179,000. It's a 4x4. I'm not really sure what direction I wanna go. Offroad or show.

179k on a 99's not bad. I've got that many on an 02... Like str8t said start with a Gotts mod, do a tune ( plugs, filters and fluids ) Post some pics...Welcome to the Forum

 

Welcome! Yes please post pics so we can make some recommendations for you. Since you're paycheck to paycheck it would be very helpful in the long run to you if you know which route you want to go (offroad, show, hybrid between the two). Enjoy the truck!
