2002 F 150 Xl Sport lift and tires?

I have a 2002 Ford F150 Xl Sport edition 2wd and I am wanting to lift it and put bigger tires on it. I am wondering how tall of a lift I should put on it and how big the tires should be?

all depends on what you want. Ive seen guys resonably put up to 37's on there trucks wih 10" of lift. Also depends on hat your using it for. I have a 6.5" lift with 35's on mine if you check out my profile with pics.

Depends what you're looking for. You can go 6" with 35's (which is what most do). Or you can go higher like 9-10" with 37's.

Keep in mind there are other associated costs that go up with bigger lifts. For example, the larger the tires the more expensive they are. I have 37x20 Toyo Mt's and it'll cost me between $1800-2000 per set. Re-gearing isn't cheap especially if you have a 4x4.

So you could potentially end up shelling out money for:
1) Suspension Lift
2) Rims
3) Tires
4) Gears
5) Tuner
6) Labor for install (if you don't do it yourself)

With 35's I believe you can get away with stock gears.

my brother has an 03 supercrew 2wd and runs 33's on factory lariat 17's with a 3" body lift. IMO the cheapest way to clear some bigger tires
