Mine was barely street legal when I bought it. It is far from perfect.

2.5 years ago my son in law bought a 98 Lariat Scab 4x4 with 4.6 auto and 140k for $6500. Documented one owner vehicle.

There's no resale on V-6 manual 2wd trucks. No problem - that's why I got mine cheap - bought it in the fall of 06 with 55k on it for $7700.

Depends a lot on where you live. Where I live I can get a 2000 Ranger XL with 125k miles 3.0 work truck for under 6k and my 2002 V6 F-150 in great shape, no rust cant even pull 3.

maybe im crazy but i paid $9k for my 2000 5.4L 4x4 with 137K miles, 6 inch lift, k&n CAI, throttle body spacer, viper remote start, HID Heads and 35x12.5R20 mud grapplers. i felt like i got a good deal though. very happy with it. had its issues, horn doesnt work, pass. window falls off the track (sometimes). needs some love, but i willing to give it all kinds so i feel more attached. i kept my 2002 bc my dad and i bought it brand new. but a dealer offered me $1k with a possibly broken tranny.

I have a 99 f150 xcab xlt v6 automatic. I priced a new truck earlier this year it was going for over 30K. The falling week I sent the old 99 to get painted and ordered rims, tires, grill and tinted the windows. Sure it has 195,000 miles on it. But it looks brand new. Because the miles that it has I might be able to get $2500 for it her in California. Dang I spent $2200 fixing it up. It still runs good, but the motor is loosing some power because the miles. I have owned this truck since new with 6 miles on it. I owe about 4 more years on my mortgage then Ill get a new to me diesel truck. By that time Ill have owned this truck for 18 years. Ill probably give it away to a family member. I was just telling my wife today how much I love my truck.
