That said, I have been working in the same direction as the aviduser:

First bought it:

Black Heads and Corners, look great but literally no light output, even with HID's:

Was going to paint my valance black, but found an HD valance for a great deal, foglights were a bonus:

Also swapped out the black heads for a set of look a like L heads but with a small projector in the corners, makes them look a little like the NBS.
God! The front of your truck looks so sick! MAn i have hardcore envy right now!

Thanks Blue, I really appreciate that. I was just trying to show aviduser some options in the "Murdered" look. It has been a year in the making and I'm not done yet. I was just looking at your latest post on your painting your console question post. Now you know why I want the black console. If either one of us finds it we will have to get together to make a deal.

Back to the main discussion!

Yeah, I tried the HID's in the black smoke heads and it didn't help at all, when I switched out to the new heads I tried both the HID's and the Halogens. I liked the Halogens much better, so that's what I am sticking with. In your opinion which are the best halogen bulbs? I have regular Sylvania's in there now and was looking as the Ultras.

I assume you mean Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. My cop friend told me Silverstars are a good bit brighter than most. I never used them myself. Whatever you get, make sure the bulb is NOT painted. Alot of bulbs (like the "xenon" ones on eBay) are simply blue tinted bulbs that result in DIM light. Despite looking a little cooler, visibility suffers greatly. After trying multiple different bulbs on my cars/trucks, I have found that clear halogens are always best for night-time driving. That is, of course, if your car doesn't come with factory HIDs.

Hehe this is SO true. I, too, envy the mean look of your truck, Ferret. Clean, yet custom and murcked with the best of them. I will be putting black 18s on eventually, however it will never be truly murdered like yours.

Blackferret - What kind of headlights are you running?

I think I'll either go with lightning corners. Or try to find a blacked out headlight/corner combo. Either way need something with a reflective strip.

Kinda like these

Just worried about buying some chinese junk. But I guess 90% of the stuff on ebay is.

I got both sets off eBay from a vendor named the racing guys. The "Dark Smoke" was a joke, they were so dark you could not even see the reflector through the lens even in direct sunlight.

The current set with the small projector, I like because they look like the NBS style heads and gives the truck an updated look. They claimed "Direct fit Plug and Play" but they were not. The headlight bulb base was off center toward the center of the truck and the base hit the headlight header panel. I had to do a little grinding to the header panel to get them to fit correctly. They gave me $40.00 back because of the hassle. I haven't seen this design on eBay for the 97-03's since then, only the 04-08's.

Most of the stuff on eBay is the Chinese junk, you can find some of better quality not made in China but you have to search a lot and ask the vendors a lot of questions. You can guarantee that almost anything with a location of "The City of Industry" is from China.
