Well a couple things. Thank you to the original poster for replying to my question because it was intended for you. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic or condisending, I was just wondering. See hears the problem in my eyes. I understand what your talking about with just kinda building a weekend warrior that will get you to work on Monday. I'd say 37 are over doing it brother. With what you said never will there be a pit that you can make it through and 4x4 of equal to your truck that couldn't go through it to. This is my opinion and I've been "bogging" for some time. Stick with 35s they will be plenty big, and a 6 in lift you will have plenty of clearence, more than you would think. Trust me
You'd be happy with it. Be for warned tho, if you go into a
Pit with all those performance upgrades your talking all your ganna do it dig those back tires in the mud. To even make it through a hole your ganna have to hit hard, very hard. End of the day it's your truck, do what you please but 37s on a 2wd is just foolish to me. Think about it. Thanks for your time

Been doing some serious thinking about doing the same set upon mine. I have a 6 .5" lift now with 20 x 10's and with the trimming i have done and alot of measuring now im thinking i can clear 37's when i add the body lift. And just to throw in my 2 cents my 2wd is nothing but a show truck and yes i think my ride is gonna look sexy as hell with the 37's if i ever decide to do it. If you like how it looks and can afford to do it i say do what makes you happy and don't think twice on what everyone elsse says! Only Opinion that matters at the end of the day is yours man! Good luck sounds like an awsome plan!

Have you been dropped on your head? So you are saying that a Fully Stock truck with a lift and 35s is better in mud then a Lifted truck with better performance with up-grades, more ground clearance with 37s....

I have a 2WD with 11.5" of lift up front 9.5" of lift in the rear, I can clear 38s, a lot of the same upgrades he has planed. I have never gotten stuck. ive pulled more 4wds out of the mud and sand then I have 2wds.....

Its his truck. If he wants to put a glitter paint job on it he can. because it is his truck.

I can't make anyone on here happy. I didn't say stock or upgraded with 35's, i just said 35's, you quoted me. 35's with 6in lift, 4wd and only bolt on upgrades with out due the same truck with 2wd all freaking day. I don't even understand how this a disagreement. But look, I'm not telling anyone what to do, just giving my opinion. I could care less what he does with his truck, I'm just trying to save someone from having heartache.

And if you've never gotten stuck then you've never gone mudding.. plan and simple.

A 2wd can do better than a 4wd, its all on the driver. The truck can only do so much, a poor driver in a nicely outfitted 4x4 will do worse than a good driver in a 4x2, plain and simple driver makes or breaks it not whats on the truck.

hey boomer your truck looks great. Is your front suspension lift with spindles or coils? And what size tires are on those stock chrome rims? They fit perfectly IMHO.

He has spindles, coils, body lift, and I think a spacer too iirc.

And I think he still has 35's on there right now.

Do you guys think I can fit 285/70-17 on the stock wheels on a 2wd without any lift? I want to do the spindles 3" later but I HAVE to buy some tires tomorrow!

What is that a 31.8x10. Hmmm i dont know I think you would need at least a 1.5" spacer up front. Pizza will be able to answer that question better than I can. You can also search for his dos and fonts thread and it will have more information. I would give you the direct link but I am on my phone. Iirc it is in his sig

It depends what it measures too. If its a 31.8x10 it could work but you'll probably have some rubbing over bumps and on the valence and inner fender liner while turning.

if you do the math exactly it measures out to 32.7 x 11.2 inches, so I'm guessing your answer is no! lol

The good news - I ordered the tires today but they are on back order and will take about a month to get here. So that gives me time to get the lift done. I had to order them today because Discount Tire had a $100 prepaid visa card deal going on that ended today.

The bad news - I'm in need of the $$ for the lift! I'm thinking maybe a body lift right now since I can get the kit and gap guards for about $300. Gonna have to find someone who can help me put it on.

Spindles are right around the same price as a body lift and a lot easier to install.
