4.6 exhaust manifold cracked

2003 F150 2WD 4.6 windsor, right side (passenger) manifold developed a exhaust leak. Good inspection through the wheel well showed a cracked manifold. I plan on soaking it daily for a couple of weeks with PB Blaster.

Then tackle the replacement: as I cringe at the thought of snapped bolts.

Any tips you can share?

there is a writeup somewhere on here if i remember, but am not certain. if you do break them, soak with more pb and use a remover kit.

I changed out my exhaust manifolds a few months ago to put some headers on. Couple things i can tell you is 1. make sure you have replacement studs/bolts, i had to use ficegrips on a couple of studs, and if you do break a stud id be impressed. 2. i didn't use any pb plater on mine, just some wd-40 and some elbow grease. 3. Defiantly put the truck up on stands (safety) and take of the front tires, give you a lot more space to breathe. Good luck
