2003 f150 fx4 lift questions

I have a question.
i want a little bit more of a lift on my truck, the torsion bars are cranked up all the way on my stock fx4 blocks in the back. Im not to sure if the stock ones are 1" or 2". anyhow if i get new 3" torsion bar keys and maybe like 2" lift shackles or replace the rear blocks with maybe 3" or 4" blocks it would be able to clear 35's. or should i just go with a 3" body lift and crank the torsion bars on that to clear 35's. anyone have an idea on what i should do?

Go with the body lift. You could actually crank your bars back down some and still clear 35's.

My dad's old 02 screw had a 3" BL and the bars were cranked just enough to be level and he had no problems clearing 35's on a 10" wide wheel with 4.5" backspacing.

Never put a leveling kit on these year 4x4's, horrible idea. What Buxton said would be the cheapest route to clear without rubbing. However some people have fit 35's on the stock wheels with just cranking the torsions.

i went to an off road shop and they said they wouldn't suggest putting a BL on for some unknown reason. Do they put extra stress on your front end?

go with the 3" body lift and 35's. You can put the BL on over a weekend with the help of some friends.

it will look similar to this.

Off road shop wants to dig in your pockets for a suspension lift, body lift and t-bars cranked to level. all you need. body lifts are easy...

It can cause body mounts to start to push through the cab, but you'd have to beat on the truck pretty pretty hard for that to even begin to become a problem. However I'd find a different offroad shop if they said that.

Yeah i took it to them and asked about it again and how much it would cast to put it in and they were asking $1500 for PA 3" body lift and that includes the installation too. does that price seem about right? If i was a better mechanic i would just do it myself but it looks like alot of work to me.

OMG!! thats as much as a susp lift!!

NO! that price is ridiculous!! shouldnt be more than $400 for install.

you can do it yourself and save alot! the body lift is less than $250.

It's kinda scary tackeling stuff like that but when i bought my truck i had not a lot of mechaical ability and ive just forced my self to learn how to do everything myself cause i don't have the extra cash to do it. Aslong as you can get your hands on the tools you can save your self some major coin for more upgrades!
