Check Engine Light Help!

My check engine light is on in my 1997 f150 4.6 v8 2wd. I went to AutoZone to see what was going on with it. I have a Bank 1 Sensor 2 O2 sensor needing replacing. I am just not sure exactly where it is. The guy at AutoZone said it was the drivers side beside the cat, but I am wanting to make sure because I looked it up on the internet and found a few different "locations." I also have a Mass Air Flow Sensor that I am probably just going to clean. I am needing help on exactly what O2 sensor I need, I am trying to find one on ebay. I am in a hurry to get this done because I am trying to sell my truck. Thanks in advance!

Get the EXACT fault code and post it here. NEVER rely on the auto parts store drone to diagnose the fault. If they know how to do that, they probably wouldn't be working in a parts store.

I wrote it down, it was p0141 bank 1 sensor 2. Where exactly is that located? I already fixed the mass air flow sensor today.

Your too trusting.
There code says the current drawn by the sensor "heater' is excessive or missing altogather.
Check the harness for burn through or open at some point first and that the connector is on tight and good..
If nothing is found, use a voltmeter to check that there is 12 volts on the heater terminals at the connector, and that the sensor heater is not open using the ohmmeter function.
Get the right pair of terminals out of the 4.
****Do not**** ohm check the OX sensor element only the heater element.
Bank 1 is passenger side, sensor 2 is the rear sensor.
You came here for advice, please listen.
Good luck.

Aright buddy, first off... I do come here for help. Not advice. I am not trusting people at these small auto shops. I appreciate it but don't talk down to me.

Agree on this 100%. My 70 yr old mother in VA had a CEL light come on and she stopped at one of the big auto stores and they read the code for her. They gave hers some code number and a list of parts to buy at over $234.00. I told her get the code read at a local car dealer when she went in for her 60,000 mile service which was scheduled later that week anyways. The code the dealer spit up was for a loose gas cap....They tightened the cap and cleared the code and CEL light never came on again...BTW--They did this at no charge too....

I own my own code reader and it has come in handy with multiple cars in the family over the yrs along with the full service DVD...
