Part ID help needed

I've got an 02 f150 4.6 have a coolant leak which I beleive to be at the metal hose that connects to the back of the water pump, and runs under the intake manifold. Any one know the name or part number for the metal tube? Is the tube easily remover, or do I need a special tool?

That's your heater core hard line. One bolt behind the passenger side head, then you pull it off the O-rings @ the WP stem. That's most likley what's bad, your O-Rings (2). Sometimes there's a by-pass line that crosses over the manifold and connects to that hard-line in the back , by the firewall. It's a 1/4" line and you'll see it once the manifold is removed.

No part number, BUT Ford makes a replacement line that connects differently at the Water Pump. They crimp a section of heater hose onto the hard-line and you clamp it to the WP stem. That's a better fix, but you have to see if that's available.

Other than that, you just replace the O-rings.

You can also modify your existing hard-line (it's what I did) and use a section of 5/8 heater hose after cutting the line back to fit in. I did this back in 08 and it's held up fine.

You use solid heat expansion clamps for that mod and face the clamp bolts down towards the valley as much as you can. Otherwise, they can come into contact with your lower intake.

Also, there's a picture of a Ford modified hard-line at the end of section one in the Haynes and Chilton manuals. That's the only picture I've seen of that mod.

Like I said, the hardline is fine usually isn't the problem, you need the replacement O-Rings (2) as I posted earlier. That's why they leak. I'll give it another shot. There are two groves cut into the WP stem. Each grove calls for a goofy sized O-Ring that can only be found at the dealership ( for me anyway).

The O-rings can split over time and it's a PITA to get to (reason for the Ford updated part). So all you needed was the O-rings and not the tube. Tried to tell you that, -I guess that didn't matter much.

Thanks for the part No tho. Hey, when you pick up the O-rings, shoot that Part No in this thread as well. That would help allot. Thanks and good luck.
