on the fence.

Alright so I just finished installing the gotts air intake mod but because my local home depot didnt have the "correct" pvc pipe I had to find something else that I could make work. You all remember those old ice cream cones our parents would give us as kids? The super small ones that started out small then got bigger then the previous cylnder part below it. Picture that in your mind. One side is 3.5-4 inchs while the end that goes in my fender is exactly 3inchs but seems a little loose. And this 3inch end doesnt even make it the full two inchs into the fender, only fits about 1 2/4 into it. My question is.... Did I mess this up.

I'd go back and look for some PVC personally, but thats just me. Or some tubing that doesn't have any restrictions in it. But hey run it for a little and see how it works for you.

Plastic plumbing pipe. I could not find black at Lowes, so I bought the white and spray painted it black. It still looked good when I sold the truck after 3 years.

It works. - Rigid plastic pipe. - Black Pipe usually. You can get it in schedules like PVC. 40 and 80.

The ABS pipe is the black plastic. The Schedule 40 PVC is the white stuff. They have the same dimensions, so either should work for you.

Glad for all the advice! Its an easy enough mod for me a sixteen year old to do but home depot just did not have the white pvc pipe in the right size. I'll go back today and look for the abs blavk piping.

Also, the hole in the fender is not exactly 3" and is not perfectly round. I used a belt sander to shape the end of the pipe to fit it perfect.

Right, I used a hole saw. Then a drum sander attachment.

Also sanded the insides of the schedule 40 and got rid of that lip. Sanded in a gradual tapper, for a better transition. Not that it helped all that much, -just seemed like the thing to do.
