No Horn No Cruise Control Issue Shift Indicator / Trans Linkage Adjust
No Horn No Cruise Control Issue Shift Indicator / Trans Linkage Adjust
I have a 2001 F150 super crew i recently bought. I fixed a couple issues already one the intermittent odometer just fixed it using a member how to.
I have 3 more issues and would appreciate any help.
1st Issue is the horn does not work. It beeps when you lock the doors so its hooked up but horn does not blow when pressed at steering wheel. I checked all the fused and they were good.
2nd Issue and this may be related once again fuses checked and are good. Cruise control does not work. While i fixed the odometer I replaced the cruise control light just in case it was out. Reason I tried the test mode where you hold the off button turn on the ignition and it should flash. However it will not flash not even with a new bulb. At this point I am lost to what to do next.
3rd Issue. My shift indicator is a little off is there and adjustment. I did replace the shifter because the handle was broke and the overdrive button wire were exposed. That was a fairly straight forward install. However the indicator is off. I think the linkage to the trans may also need adjusted as sometimes I put the truck in park and it will not start. I usually shift in to neutral and start the truck. Or take it out of park and re put it in park it will usually start.

1 & 2 might be the clockspring. You'll have to test it.
3 - Check for slop in the shifter first. If it's tight, just adjust the pointer. If it's sloppy, check the Torx bolts under the dash and the shift tube bushings.
