What I can't believe is that the tailgate is still solid!
But in reality, the truck isn't that bad. The box can be replaced, as can the rockers. Everything can be repaired. Need to see more structural areas to give a better diagnosis.

That is terrible. some think mine is bad lol. Id take surface over that any day.
On a side note- from the sounds of it- that's just a truck this guy was walking by in a parking lot. (he probably drives a pruis lol) he has no right making fun of a guys ride- it gets the owner where he wants to go. If I saw someone making fun of/ poking my truck like that Id flip out on him.

I liked the comment, - -" It needs a good wrapping of Duck Tape".
Yea, that's ALLOT worse than mine. At least I had something to weld replacement panels to... Still, I'll never go thru fixing one again, - I learned..- A bunch of stuff I've never wanted to.

I don't know what the jurisdictional rules are where that truck is, but here as long as the rust holes don't create openings into the passenger compartment or cause structural weakness its fine. Most honest mechanics would probably pass that box.

I bet it still runs and drives like new
