01 Scab Rattling Noise from mid to front area.. Help!!!
ok guys, for some reason when my truck is in park or in gear and im inching along I this super annoying rattle coming from the front area.it starts soft and gets loud and back to soft or just stops.. could be anywhere from under the driver side cab to somewhere in the front area..it doesn't do this all the time but it does it more often then not..i cant for the life of me figure out what the heck it is,its like as soon as i hop off to look it stops...at first i thought it was coming from my muffler such as a broken chamber inside my flowmaster,it had happened before so i replaced it and i thought it was it but its started again but now i have narrowed it down to the driver side((or so it sounds like)) under the cab to front area...any ideas???
ok ill definitely do that,IF by chance it turns out to be that any quick fix tips or is it a just replace them thing?? excuse my lack of knowledge here..
I had the same noise last year. Checked the heat shields and everything- couldn't find it.
I know its hard to believe but it turned out to be an exhaust clamp on the y pipe. it rusted and every time in idle would start to rattle, but not in drive or reverse lol.
Took it off then drove down to the hardware store bought a new one and put it on- no more rattle.
I would check them out while you are under there.
Good luck.

Saw the guards. Good job- love seeing projects with low cost that are functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Keep us up to date with the noise- remember what you find could help somebody else when they do a search and this thread pops up.
