truck acting wierd (advice much appreciated)

hey yall,

recently (This past week) i have noticed that when i turn my truck on, it will rev up but then the RPM's will drop so much that the truck will shut off.

i found this strange, as i have no idea what may have cause it. Im in college so

i dont have much time to check things out, but i just find it odd that it shuts off

after turning it on and it runs for a second or two then the rpms drop to where

the truck turns off. today i thought maybe it was the air filter or something

clogging it where the air would come through but it still did it.

any advice would be great! its a 03' 4.6 f150 btw

Clean your Idle Air control valve. Search IAC and you can find write up's on how to clean it

I agree, or just replace it. I think it's like $40 or so.

Use WD-40, spray it into the IAC, and work the plunger with a screwdriver.

Should be simple to remove. Not much to it except an electrical connector and 2 bolts. Be careful with the gasket - if you rip it a new one is only about a buck.
