Front End replacement time

The time has come for the old girl to get tightened back up. I figure it's roughly at the half way point of its life, so some new parts up front would be a good idea. I'm still on stock tie rods, upper ball joints, bushings, etc. The only thing that has been changed out are the lower ball joints.

I'm thinking about ordering Moog parts from Rock Auto. I'm going to get the upper control arm with ball joint and bushings already in it, and outer tie rod ends. Any other suggestions? Should I do inner tie rod ends?

Also, while I've got it all apart, is there anything else that I should consider replacing while it's opened up?

If you're going through the trouble, I'd replace the inner tie rods as well, this way you only need to have one alignment performed. Also you will want to replace the idler arm as well as the pitman arm, and check the stabilizer end links. While you're under the truck, check on your power steering pump and make sure it isn't leaking. Check on your shocks too, if they have been on the truck for more than 50k miles, they should be replaced too. After all this, you'll feel like its new again.

I agree with Mikeyss^^^
I did this on my 01 at 98K, I replaced it all at the same time so there was no worry later and wouldn't have to get another alignment. I used all MOOG parts as well.
if I were you i'd Replace uppers, outer and inner tie's, pitman arm, drag link, Idler arm, stabilizer links. might want to check the steering gear for leaks while your doing it and replace the seals.
Shocks may be a good idea and check the front wheel bearings. Once i did all this on mine it was like new, no issues. should be good for another 90K.

my idler arm is new with a Moog part, my shocks are fairly new with Bilsteins. I'm not sure what a drag link is - any help on that one?

I guess I should consider the Pitman arm too... any way to test if it's needing replacement?

Oh, and finally, is my sway bar a 27mm? The website has parts for 33mm and 27mm and I'm not sure which one I need.

Thanks guys

Drag link is the long bar that the tie rods, pitman arm .... connect to between the left and rigt sides. Best way to figure out what size sway bar you have is contact your local dealear with your vin, they should be able to tell you.
