Fog light switch need help

Buddy of mine just bought an 03 fx4 and it has fog lights but the switch won't pull out to turn them on? Can anyone help with this?

not trying to make you sound like a rookie, but did you guys try turning it all the way to the right where the headlights come on then pull it out?

if that doesn't work, does it have the fog light symbol on the switch at all? if not maybe a previous owner switched out the switch and did not get a fog light compatible one.

grats to your buddy!

Yep, gotta turn the headlights on first, then you can pull to turn on the fogs. If you hit your highbeams, the fogs will switch off too...

Yeah we Turned the lights on first then Reyes pulling it out and it wouldn't do anything. Not sure if it has the fog light symbol on it but I know it's got fogs lol

you may have bought a pickup that didn't originally have fogs and had em put in, but not fully wired, or the original switch took a crap and they went to a bone yard and got the switch out of a truck without fog lights.

Maybe the PO replaced the headlamp switch for some reason with a non fog switch ??

This is the only picture I could find quick with the fog lamp icon on it.

This is just a SWAG before you spend any cash at a dealer.

Is it that the switch doesn't pull out, or that it does pull but the lights don't come on?

If it looks like the picture above with the light and 3 lines with the perpendicular line through them, and the arrow pointing down, it is a fog lamp switch.

If it will not pull out, sounds like the switch is messed up, as if the PO tried the fog lamp switch mod and really jacked up the switch.

Take a look at this thread on getting the switch out, and take a look at the ramp and pin on the switch post to see what is holding it up.
