About to go insane!
About to go insane!
My 01' Screw had developed a dash squeak in the past few months and it has reached the point of driving me insane. I have taken it to a body shop to have the problem fixed and they seem to think it is coming from somewhere under the dash, but can't pinpoint it.
My unscientific research has found that the noise is louder at the top of the dash near the windshield. I have attempted to conquer this numerous times with another attempt yesterday. I removed the radio bezel and tightened any screws I could find there, and did the same around the steering column. No luck.
I am out of ideas. Anyone have this issue before? Any luck in resolving it? I can't stand to drive the thing due to the squeak.

that **** on the left side of your stereo will fix your problem
HAH! Year i know how you feel. I have tracked down quite a few squeaks in my truck and it can be a real headache. Iv gotten to the point of having a friend drive my truck with the dash apart while i ride with my feet sticken up on the seat with my head in the dash lol. Now i have a noise in my door i need to track that im not looking forward to. All these damn washboard roads are screwing with my rig. So just keep at it. Its somewhere in there

im sure you already checked but make sure it isnt somthing in the glove box or fell behind the glove box. also have you removed that big surfboard shaped peice on the top? i think there is more acces to things to tighten.
Jbrew, are you way off topic or is there sumtin with a leak that coud cause a squeak?

Pulled the surfboard and tightened everything by about a 1/4 turn yesterday. No luck
It seems when stopped at a light in gear is when it really squeaks/vibrates. Slip it into neutral and it quiets down considerably, or may even go away. Thinking I may have an issue other than the dash I took it to a mechanic... and he agrees that it's in the cab engine sounds fine.
I will check the glovebox, can't hurt. I am thinking the hanging upside down may come next.
