Looking at buying a 97-03 single cab 4x4 with the 5.4 does anyone know the specs of that engine?? And is it hard to find lift kits exhaust air intakes etc for these?

as far as lift kits exhaust air intakes etc, :
you can find all of this at 4wheelparts.com, stylintrucks.com, truckchamp.com any truck accessories place

 

if you get one do the GOTTS mod for the intake, a local shop can do your exhaust, and lifts are getting harder to find but they are still out there. im sure with a little research you will do fine! good luck!

 

Ask me anything, had mine since late 99 so not too much specific to these trucks I don't know or have heard about. Biggest issue was finding a exhaust system. Everything else really is pretty much the same as the other trucks.

 

If you are looking to get one find a 2003 and look at the cylinder heads for a manufacture date after November of 2002. That way you get the 8 thread heads and you wont blow out a spark plug.

 

i have 98 and i just did a 3inch lift in the front and a 2inch lift in the back and found it pretty easy.
