That will straighten right out.

And yes, it's totaled. If the option is there to buy it back I would.

That looks like street sign damage on the front end...
Not sure about the cab.

Ooooo... did you run through a stop sign and hit a pedestrian?

Just cut the top of the cab off and make it a convertible.

no need to speculate, I fell asleep at the wheel and drove over a street light/indicator, the kind with the walk/wait light and the turn signal. nobody got hurt. The air bag didn't even go off.

I have full coverage so maybe the insurance company will be kind and cut me a reasonable check. I would like another truck just like it but they are very hard to find in Colorado.

Bummer.. but once the cab is involved where you just can't replace a fender or a door, it's way too much $$ to fix than what the truck is "worth"... Can it be fixed? Hell yes... But for how much??

Good luck with the insurance.. If they offer you a decent price to total it, I'd take it...

Mitch

I bet you can lean back in the chair, legs up and push the cab back 90% or so then finish with a bfh... some bondo, a bumper, windshield, mirror, grill, hood and some paint and be on your way..

Shooooot...that'll polish right out. What that doesn't get, a little Mothers Back to Black will finish up nicely.

Yea, that's the thing with our body style now...technically not worth hardly anything. Doesn't take much to total it. But, that may be a bad thing. I'm not a body guy, but I'd imagine that'd be a tough repair to get juuuuuuust right so all the doors are aligned perfectly and everything. I agree with Mitch...if they give you anything resembling fair market value, I'd take that and be very happy. Only part that suck is you will not be able to replace that truck with fair market value, but hopefully it'll serve as a good size chunk of a down payment on whatever's next for ya.

Sorry for your loss...I can't imagine that happening to my baby.

Kinda changing gears slightly, but the wife and I were talking about new cars/trucks and stuff the other day. We pretty much decided if and when new truck day ever comes, I get to keep my current truck. With the current value, any trade it or sale towards the down payment would literally only make about $10-$15 a month difference in the monthly note...NOT WORTH IT. I'll keep it as a garage queen or save it for the kid or something, but I'm not giving it away for $15 a month.

Lucky you... Considering most shops will total it if the damage is over half the value. What is that thing worth, 10k?
