Suggestions needed please...

I need some ideas. I'm trying to replace the small bearing in the top of my steering and can't get the old one out. I've tried everything I can think of and quit for the day.

I have a right angle punch but I can't it under the bottom of the bearing to get leverage to pull it out. I've also tried to wedge a point between the bearing and the housing to get an opening for something larger to pry it but that hasn't worked either.

There isn't enough room to get an angle and leverage at the same time. Of course I'm trying not to damage anything in the process.

I was hoping to get it out without destroying the bearing because I can't be sure yet exactly which side of the new bearing faces up.

But tomorrow it's coming out no matter what!

Here's a pic you can see the bearing at where the shaft goes thru the housing. I had an idea to drill a tiny hole in the top of the bearing to get some leverage for a point.

Grateful for any suggestions.

From the looks it is likely pressed on the shaft and has some seslant around the outside.
May have to dissassemble to get the shaft out for bearing replacement.
Good luck.
