2001 Mod questions, thoughts
I'll start by saying I'm new the the forum. I have a 2001 4X4 5.4 bought new, about 115,000 miles with no upgrades, all stock (except the cap I put on it). So I started with the cold air intake and K&N filter, added a TB spacer, new Rancho 5000 shocks, just rebuilt all the steering components. After reading a bunch of threads on here I adjusted the torsion key's to level the front and brought it up 2 1/4 inches.
Now for the questions, putting a level on the body it's level, the rear wheel wells are about 1 inch lower than the front so it looks like it's riding up hill, should i put in blocks? what size? or go with adding a leaf to the springs? Tires are about to be replaced with 285-70-17s in the BFG's AT KO's and i wanted the extra space. Don't want to do a whole suspention lift just want a little on it, i still tow trailers and want it to sit level with teh camper weight on it. Thoughts?

i think the stock 4X4 Block is a 2" block iirc, so to level it out with the front youd need to gain an inch so you would need a 3" block
as for sitting level with the camper weight the only way to do that would be air ride towing bags not to expensive you can get those from LMC at a good price

Well that was my first thought, however, after putting the tires and wheels on I didn't want to have any rub going on. now i took a tire that is the same size i'm about to put on from a friends expy and it would hit the inner fender, once i raised it they cleared with a little room. that's why i didn't go back down.
Add a leafs are about the same price as blocks if I remember right. Around $120. Since you tow, you can get the best of both the lift and the added load strength. Depends what offset your rims are as to what tire you can fit with how much you have lifted it. I only lifted my front about 1 1/2" and fit 33x12.5x17's and only had to trim the plast lower valance. No issue on the inside of the fender at all.
I originally did what you did, raised the front up pretty high to where the back was actually lower (worn springs) and didnt like the way it looked so I brought it back down. Still fits the 33's just fine.

I would do the air bags. They're a bit more expensive than a block but work amazing for towing or campers. My truck is sitting on cranked torsion bars (2 1/4" up in the front) and I added a 2.5" block to the rear. I run BFG A/T TA KO in a 315/70R17 with no rubbing issues at all. I just trimmed a tiny bit off the corner of the front lower valence. I have Firestone air bags in a 2500 Suburban that we use for heavy towing that I air up to make the truck sit level, works like a charm.
Maybe it was the offset of the rim or something but when i did try those tires turned hard left and right they hit the inner fender. I'm leaning more toward adding the leaf spring right now. looking at some new wheels with a -6 offset, should help with the clearance. thanks for the input, I'll work on this and post when i get it done.
