my passenger side would not fully unlock and I had to hit the switch several times. Took off the little square surround cover around it and it has worked without fail since.

Here is the skinny on the actuators.
They are actual electric motors that turn a spiral shaft with a course pitch twist for fast movement.
The shaft end of the motor has a rubber like boot to keep water out.
The boot comes apart after so many years and uses.
This often allows water to get in the shaft area and begin to rust.
In some installations the motor is mounted vertical so the water can get inside fall to the bottom and collect.
In freezing temps, often the motor is frozen and can't turn until the cab temp gets up allowing it to work again.
By this time in it's life it begins to work slower from the rust then finally stops and could even blow the breaker from excess current..
Good luck.

Yup, that's the tell tale sign mine were going when they went. Kind of a pain to install but do-able, window up of course.

I have a supercrew, according to what ive read it has different actuator than single or extended cabs.?

Any way I removed the door panels and sprayed a nicd amount of wd40 on the rods, lock assemby and it seemed to help alot.

My passenger side lock is intermittent. I did some research online a while back, but have not messed with it since it mostly works. Ford gets about $55, but the actuators can be found online for aftermarket parts for around $20. There are threads you can find to give you detailed instructions for replacement and also threads on how to "rebuild" and fix them. Not sure on the quality of the aftermarket parts, but we know the ford parts are notorious for failure.

This is a normal problem. My passengar door lock went intermittant first. I ordered a set, left and right on ebay. Replaced the passenger side first, that was two years ago, it still works great. I replaced the drivers side about a year later, no problems to this day.
