i was experiencing a very annoying rattle coming from who knew where. sounded like octane ping,a very tinny kind of noise. chased it for months,finally,was sitting very close to a wall and could hear it clearly. found it to be the dust shield on the front of the bellhousing. i crawled underneath and just lightly tapped it and there it was. I hope this is helpful to anyone else out there.
