Now power to 4x4 relay, bad GEM?

Fuses are good.

4x4 dont work, had helper turn switch while I checked YEL and ORG wire on the tcase motor, nothing.

Removed panel on top of dash to reveal 4x4 relays. Checked BRN/WHT and ORG/LT BLU,nothing nor did I feel hear them click when I turned the ****.

That would be a bad GEM,correct?

Also my wipers work but when I turn the off they stop immediately instead of parking'',is this related to the GEM?

It could also be a bad connection at the plug in of the gem. look for corrosion first. It could also be a bad wire between gem and relay. my guesse is it is more than likely the gem. they known for this problem. good luck

If you find some corrosion, it could be the problem. i cleaned mine with wd40. I didn't see any corrosion. i just was hoping it would fix it. I had to replace gem in my truck. i have heard some people having some corrosion and when they cleaned it, it worked like new. keep me informed on what you find

I dont know if the shift motor(contact plate) is bad or the GEM.Im leaning toward the GEM because I having the same problem as this guy with my wipers..https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...er-issues.html

What do you think Hawk?

I would say gem is bad. if the gem alarms out, the 4x4 lights will blink. there was a recall on gems in the f250 and f350. They use the same gems as the f150. your best bet is to go to the dealer and put ion on the machine. that's the only way i know of to know for sure. i hope this helps

So I grabbed another GEM off Ebay and installed it,same problems as my old GEM.
No 4x4 and still have wiper parking issues.

What are the odds I have a bad tcase motor and bad wiper switch?

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. I had wiper issues, wouldn't park, changed out the multi function switch twice (napa), no luck. Changed wiper motor, changed the GEM, all without success. Dealer replaced the multifunction switch with a Ford switch, and it solved my wiper problems. I guess there was a reason the Napa switch was $90 and the Ford switch was over $200.

I don't know about your transfer case issues, but I fought the wiper issue last May. Good luck

I am sorry the gem didn't fix it. The question we have to answer is why gem not powering up the relay. i thought gem wasn't working. Did you check all the fuses?

Checked the fuses 5x,nothing looks bad.
Well today I grabbed a new tcase motor and still no 4x4.
The new motor was in the 4H position,I didn't install it just laid in on the cross member to check operation.

EDIT:If I turn the key on with the switch in 4H,the 4x4 light on dash lights up,if I turn the key on with switch in 2H,the light is off.

I may have checked the wrong relays though.I checked under the oval on pass side dash and there are 3 relays but today I noticed wires wasn't there according to some diagrams Ive seen.

Where are the 4x4 relays in a 01 supercrew?

The owner's manual will tell you - if you don't have one you can download it.

Also noticed now that I hear the ABS pump making a noise every 5secs or so and the ABS light on the dash blinks with the noise, never noticed that before. Does the GEM control the abs?

I switched some fuses and relays around, did that cause that?

Download your owner's manual from my link and start reading on page 189.

There are several fuses in both the inside box and PDB that affect the GEM, ABS, 4x4, and wipers.
