Strange power door lock issue

The power door locks on my '97 F150 don't work so well. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with their locks? The only thing that works is the pass. side unlock button. Drivers side, nothing works. I've replaced the actuator and switch in the drivers side door as well as the relay. Not sure what to think of this but it would sure be nice to have the power locks working. Only thing I can think of is something to do with the aftermarket security/remote start that was on the truck when I bought it? The buttons on the key fob dont operate the locks either and I dont know much about the wiring on those things. Any help or insight would definitely be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Interesting. So there is a way for the actuator to unlock the doors and still be bad? I would have never thought that. Didn't want to spend more money on another actuator for the other door when it worked unlocking the doors fine. Appreciate the info.

The one I bought was a Dorman, aftermarket. Went to Ford and picked one up, worked fine. I opened the old one up, the gear was striped after only a week.
