New guy with 5.4 Spark Plug issue!

Hello guys, I’m new here. I just bought a 2000 Ford Lightning with 63,000 miles. I loved it. Key word LOVED. I have put about 2,000 miles on it and the number 3 spark plug shot out again. That’s 2 times in 2,000 miles. I’m so pissed I called ford at the home office. The guy was very rude. He kept saying that it was not Fords responsibility, it was maintenance issue. I was so mad I consulted a lawyer. I was advised to fill out a BBB complaint and wait for that. Turns out if enough people do this Ford legally has to address the issue. It is from 1997-2002 issue I believe. I’m so motivated to get this addressed I don’t even care if I lose, I just want Ford to look at this issue. If anyone out there has had issues with this or is currently dealing with it you should do a BBB report! Anyways, this is my first Ford truck I have ever bought. Don’t think I would ever do it again. I have a 2001 Pontiac GTP heavily modified. That’s my sports car!! Well, thanks for reading.

All you have to do is a Timesert to fix it permanently. This has been ongoing since 1999, so doubt you will get anywhere. There are many on this site that have done the repair.

Time sert makes a kit just for our engines to address this very problem--some Ford dealers use these now to make the repair--then again ,some don't. The kit's going to cost you almost 500 bucks,, but thats cheaper than pulling the head to make the repair.

No, my dad knows the guy that owns Jasper Motors and Transmission, he had then build me a Racing edition 5.4L, The cast stamp says 5.4L, but every thing is bigger, Heads, pistons, Followers, Cams, Springs, push rods, intake and exhust holes, larger fuel injectors, and a little larger than stock throttle body, right after i got the motor put in it rained for 4 days straight here, i got water on top of the motor and had a little "miss" made me so mad but after it ran for a day or too it smoothed out, havent had any other problems, best 6500$ investment i ever made,

Strange, this is the first I have ever heard of this.

Do a search and you will find a ton of threads about this and how to fix it properly as mentioned above.

I've done the timsert and its EASY. Rent the kit or buy it. its only about $175 to buy it outright with every thing you need. or Galaxy rents it.
