'00 Flareside - Let's build it

Hi,

I've made previous threads regarding this truck, but this is the final. This is where it's all gonna take place, the transformation of my '00 Flareside Ext Cab with the 4.2L V6.

Here's what I'm thinking:

- 5% Tint on rear windows (extended cab, rear window/rear sliding)
- 20% Tint on front driver & passenger windows
- New 18" Black Rims W/ BFG All-Terrain
- Dynomax exhaust & headers (dual)
- 6" Lift
- After-market LED smoked out tail-lights/3rd brake lights
- After-market head-lights
- Custom sound system: New front and rear speakers, head unit (touch screen) with 2 10" subs underneath rear seat
- Re-do gauge lights to cherry red (to match exterior paint of truck)
- Chrome door handles/fuel door
- Grill guard
- Nose shield

What's your thoughts??

2wd? What gears are you planning on? That 4.2 will beg for taller gears with a bigger than stock tire.

Sounds like a good list so far, post up some current pics of the truck.

4.2? 6" lift and no gears..? It wont make it out of the driveway.

I haven't really looked into gears yet. What would you recommend? And what do the aftermarket gears benefit?

Depends on tire size. 35's with 4.56 gears or 33's with 4.10's seems to be the most common combinations. And they benefit your transmission and the fact that you'll need power to turn those tires which you'll lose with the factory gear ratio and larger tires.
