I would look at vacuum leaks especially the rubber PCV elbow at the back of the throttle body and clean the MAF..

did you inspect the elbow at the back of the throttle body? it commonly is the cause of that code.

Take at the air injection valve and associated plumbing.

Sorry about that, I was thinking one thing and typing another. I actually meant Idle Air Control Valve. It can cause erratic idle and staling, usually only when the vehicle is cold. It is located on rear of intake. There are a couple of right ups on here about cleaning it. Another thought is the EGR system.

If it were a vacuum leak, would it not effect both banks and throw both p0171 and p0174? I would think if it is just bank 1, it would be something specifically related to that bank. Either there is too much air getting in or not enough fuel.

arron, get your feet on the ground.
Liquid fixes are not the way for specific codes the computer is telling you, there is.
Have you looked up the code to see what the discription is?
171 is indeed the code for lean bank 1. <<<<<But>>>>> not it's specific cause.
The causes for it can be many.
These type codes can be set for both lean and over rich conditions.
The over richness can be leaking fuel regulator. To much fuel.
Fuel pressure to high. To much fuel.
Fuel pressure to low. To little fuel.
Intake air leak. Causes either to much or to little fuel as an end result.
Vapor recovery system faults. Same thing.
Certain EGR system faults. Same thing, as well as a shift in ignition timing.
Dip stick not seated or it's tube rusted through letting air into the crankcase.
These all result in a great upset in air/fuel ratio and cause roughness and drivability issues.
You have to work with the presented code and not a bottle of cleaner.
Begin by investigating each area for a fault same as a good mechanic would have to do.
I'm not trying to be a hard a** but you need to do it this way to help yourself.
Everything is not fine or you would not be having a problem.
Good luck.
