So last night i replaced my heater core and everything went smoothly until i tried to leave and realized my truck wont shift into gear. the shifter isnt stuck it just moves freely like its not connected to anything.

any ideas guys im thinking the shifter cable is the problem but i wanted to ask first!

 

What year, what transmission, and is it a column shift or floor shift?
