Mounted my BFG 315/70/17

Finally got around to mounting the 35" tires. I think it looks good.
I was a little worried about performance loss, but honestly didn't notice that much if any difference in how the truck accelerates. I dont tow, nor do I go WOT a bunch so maybe if doing those you'll notice the drag more. I'm sure gas mileage will suffer. From the measurements I took before and after, the truck sits almost 2" taller from ground to the top of the fender flares.

So far no rubbing and I haven't done any cutting. I did crank the torsion bars.

Here are pics.

Nice indeed. The larger tire sizes fill in the wheel wells a little more. I was surprised how much when I got my 295/70/17 Nitto's

Thanks for the compliments. I actually think since cranking the Tbars and the larger tires the ride is more stable and not as bouncy. Other bumps I use to feel, not so much now.

It seems like stepsides have less rubbing issues than regular beds, my 315/75-16 bfg's don't rub either (even at full lock).

Gears would be nice, but honestly I haven't felt the power loss.
I dont tow anything and dont do any WOT pulls much. At regular dirving I haven't noticed the difference. I'm sure i'll notice it at the pump and obviously on the speedo, but that's about all the difference I've noticed.

I will mention today I did notice driving during traffic while going say 45-50 ish and letting of the gas without breaking I can feel the tranny shift down. Not sure if it's my Ujoints starting to go or just the larger tires. I know i have a rear brake bad dragging so that could be the cause too.

Only mods I have is I replaced the stock muffler with a highflow one and dumped the pipe out infront of the rear tire. I also have a CAI....nothing more. Performance wise I can't feel the difference.

I'm happy with it. Just hope the tires dont wear ther rearend or tranny out!!!

^^ That's the drive shaft, you can never get rid of that for long. Remove the shaft, lube the slipyoke with ford grease (I forgot what it's called) reinstall. It will go away for a while... There is a tsb somewhere.
