Your not making any since at all.. You are complaining on gas for your truck but yet you are going to spend several thousand dollars on a car.. Do you realize how long it will take you before you are in the good with this descision? A few thousand dollars in gas for the truck can take you a long way. Im thinking you dont want the truck anymore and you are using the fuel mileage as a excuse to get something you want...

If you build that Subie like you are wanting to, I bet it doesn't get any better mileage than the truck. Don't forget that you will be burning PREMIUM gas in the Subie too.

You can afford recreational activities such as skiing, but not gas for your truck? Seriously? That's like taking up Yachting and then going to the food bank for dinner.

And also, coming from a guy who has a car that would devour that Subaru on the highway (fully built Supra) you won't be saving a dime in the long run. Mod'd fast cars cost money, and lots of it.

Roll with what you've got and re-organize your lifestyle to accommodate your cost!

Everyone I know who buys a car because it's turboed or all done up typically wrecks it within a week, especially in cities that get crappy weather as they think they can handle "anything"... But who knows
