Painting Trim

So I'm going to have a week off from class over thanksgiving and plan on painting my fairly faded trim pieces. A few of questions... I know there is a thread on how to remove the honeycomb grille but can't seem to find it if anyone can point me in the right direction. Also was wondering how you have been going about painting the tailgate handle. Also, what kind of paint, clear coat will work the best?
Thanks!

Here's the link for the grill:

And I just used Duplicolor Oxford White (my paint color) for my handle. Sand, clean it with a degreaser, mask off the key hole with tape or whatever you want to use, clean off finger prints with degreaser, spray adhesion promoter, spray top coat in thin coats, repeat top coat til desired color, clear with duplicolor clear coat
Matches pretty well:

I just took my whole handle out and then removed the lock by itself.
