Roof Racks

So I went to my look hang out ( local junk yard) to get a new radio trim piece and some gm tow hooks, while I was there my friend and owner of the junk yard was fixing to crush a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a roof rack on it. I said I wanted the rack he said I could have it for $25 if I took it off. So I take it off pay him for it and get it home and look the name of the rack up on the internet and according to its production year, 2009, it sold for 650. so long story short I got a $650.00 roof rack for $25.00. the lights and mounts cost me more than the rack did.

Now its got a new coat of bed liner, high gloss black paint to match my truck.

I plan to put my spare tire on it, since a 35'' doesn't fit under the bed

My next question is does anybody else have a roof rack?
What do you carry on it?

Here are some pics :

Looks awesome man, I've been wanting one like that. How'd you mount it? Just drill into the cab?

I haven't mounted it yet, mounts came in today I'll have it mounted on Sunday.

But yea I have to drill 8, 1/2" holes in the roof. Comes with all needed hardware for a tight fit. To be honest I'm a little nervous.

I'm not sure on stock bumpers, but I know I've used mine under the receiver in the back and I use it on my front bumper, but it's far from stock ha.

I have one, but I attached mine to the top of my tonneau cover. Mostly used to haul bikes and camping gear. Works awesome, and always get looks and compliments on it......alot of "what is it" questions!

I have a rack that I built from aluminum. (my son owns a sign shop) I bolted it through the roll cage on the front top and ran a leg down behind the cab (both sides) to the sides of the cab just above the box. The bed is a piece of 1 inch plywood with skate board grip tape on it. So far I've had a fully quartered bull moose on it and I use it for a sighting stand for hunting and photography .

Thanks jump n! I love your truck, it's my favorite from the 97-03 style.

looks good. I might have to try to find one myself now. Though, I think I'll cut it down & make somewhat of just a light bar out of it.
