I've got a 1997 F150 and the heater fans continues to run with the key out of the ignition (it will still turn off at the switch). Also, when the truck is running, the airbag light stays on. These both started at the same time. Could it be an ignition switch going bad? I've tried disconnecting the battery but it does not reset.

 

check your GEM module... has it rained recently?? water gets in and follows the main harness down to the plugs on the back of the module and wreaks havoc...

Easy fix: hair dryer/blast of compressed air followed by WD-40
**** fix: remove GEM module, disassemble, coat circuit board with WD, dielectric grease on connectors, knot an old towel around harness to divert water, search in vain for leak (320,000 on og GEM module...)
