The 4.6 and 5.4 were both used in the F250 LD.

I dont ever remember them putting a 4.6 in a 7700. They came with 5.4's and 4r100 for the drivetrain with a semi floating Sterling 10.25.

My father has a '97 F250 LD with a 4.6

The 4.6 was dropped when Ford changed it from F250 LD to F150 7700
