Well I know this is a 2 yr old post but like you said...time will tell if the paint holds up. So how has it held up? Just wondering because ive been thinking about doing the ptm valance but im concerned about it chipping or cracking.

Yea, that valence looks very cool painted up like that. Don't see to many, -at least I haven't.

Yes it looks awesome. The gray lower valance is the one part on my truck that has always kind of bothered me. They could of or should of at least made it black to match the rest of the trim. I have a white truck with black bumper pads (front & back), black mirrors, black cowl, black door handles and bed liner then the lower valance is gray. It kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd love to paint it white to match the body but it would be nice to know how the ptm holds up long term.

Longbed 1978: The paint has held up very well. There are only a few small little chips, barely noticeable are here and there. You have to get up close to look for them. No cracking on the paint either. And, If I wanted to pull the thing off and give it a fresh coat, that should only take a few beers…..I mean hours!
I also painted my honeycomb grill a few years ago (summer 2011) using the krylon fusion satin black and it to has held up very well. A little faded now, so I might shoot it up again. I've been wondering what to do next on the truck!
