Anyone using hi-lift jacks?

Well my girlfriend bought me one over the summer for my birthday because she saw me working on my truck one day and she thought it was too unsafe for me to be using a jack with blocks of wood underneath to give it more height haha. But I mean I don't mind cause the thing's awesome ha, I was just wondering if anyone else on here had them and where you where putting them on the truck to raise it from?

Also where is everyone getting there jackstands at that will hold a lifted truck at the frame without having to stack wood underneath? Everywhere I look around here locally just aren't nearly big enough and are more meant for cars.

Do you have any tractor supply stores near you? Last time I was at mine they had some pretty tall jack stands.

Yea I do, but everything there is way over priced like last time I checked they wanted 150 for the jack stands, unless that's a decent price?

Depends on what brand and the ratings and lift height are for them.

They were 6-ton up to either 28" or 30" if I remember correct but it was there store brand so I'm guessing off brand.

I have a hi lift and never had to use it on my own truck. But have used it out in the woods to help some friends in jeeps. I have 3 set of 36" 8 ton jack stands that i picked up at Northern tool. Harbor freight also has some that are 6 ton and are 36". They maybe made in china but the have feet supports to prevent them from digging in to concrete..

I have a 60" hi Lift that I have mounted to my headache rack I have used it a lot I bought the wheel adapter piece because I know that the new bumpers crumple like tin foil if you lift off them... All in all they are handy to have I have had to use mine as a winch it was slow but I mean it works and if you know how to use it you can get out of most situations... As for jack stand just get a good set you never know how much you use them till you have them.

I use the 12 ton jack stands from harbor freight. It is the only way to go with a big lifted truck. They get the height down easy and the truck won't sway in the air when it is up high.

Yea I saw the wheel adapter for it, but I was worried it might damage the wheels. Has it had any bad effect's on your wheels? Because if not I might end up ordering it haha.

And cool thanks for the reponses guys, I'll check into northern tools and harbor freight and see what I find!

Not that I really noticed I usually keep a cloth in between the strap and the rim so make sure that it doesn't scratch anything. Than again usually if I end up having to use it, its the kinda situation where I am just wanting to get it out so I don't have to walk out...Once I get some time to build bumpers ill be set and just use the jack on those.
