Gryphon CS?

I have a 98 f150, with a 4.6. I have just a regular edge tuner right now, and i keep it on level two since i dont always have the extra money to run 93. I recently put long tube headers, one hiflow cat after the y pipe, 40 series flowmaster with lightning style duals. I also have the gotts mod. I am considering selling my edge, and buying a gryphon cs, to get a custom tune for these mods. Can anybody tell me if they think it is worth it, or maybe a ballpark on the extra horse power i would get from running a custom tune with these mods, compared to the canned edge tune? Some insight would be greatly appreciated.

They will need to know the year and what engine you have.

They can custom tune the gryphon. Fact is if you sent them your edge they could convert it into a gryphon or at least thats something they used to do..

I have a gryphon but it isnt custom tuned so I dont know for sure but I expect there would be an improvement especially with all the mods you have. Dont think it would be dramatic..

How do you like your gryphon? I didnt imagine it would be all that dramatic either, but I always hear people talking about gaining 20-30 hp from a custom tune with longtube headers, so I'm just looking to see if anybody could back that up.

I think those people are going from a stock tune to a custom tuned gryphon.. You have an Edge that has a "tune" albeit not "custom" Your benefit might only be a slight increase of maybe 5-10hp.. I think it would be an improvement but not dramatic.. If you had the newer engine you would want it for sure the 3v's like to be tuned for anything that causes them to be lean like CAI's. "Worth" it? I dunno.. Probably cost you around 300 after you sell the edge. Not that much really. considering all the money youve obviously spent..

That's true, not too much money. But at the same time i didnt drop long tubes and a high flow exhaust system in for my entertainment, i had leaks all over the place and was going to have to either replace the whole exhaust with brand new, or never get rid of that horrible sound, and not pass inspection because of cat issues. So rather than bolting on a stock system, i couldnt pass up the chance to upgrade sound and performance. I think i'll be waiting on the programmer for now.

It will help drivability and help keep the truck from loading up and running too rich.
