Is my alternator going bad?

I went to start my truck after working on the inside of it and all I got was a bunch of rapid clicks. My lights were on and bright when it was on accessory, I jumped it and got it started. Is it my alternator going bad or something else? Thanks in advance!

It's possibillity if it happens again I'd take it in and get the alternator checked.

Yea no problem, also if you have a spare chance run by autozone or one of those places and have the battery voltage check it could be on its way out.

Battery or the connections would be my guess. Sometimes just a cleaning of the posts and cables will make a huge difference. Could be losing a cell on the battery too. It'll show 12+v and even show 14+v when running, but when you hit the starter, it'll drop to almost nothing.

Might check the cable going to the start too..

Good luck!

Mitch
