Question Newer Running Boards on our style?

So I've been searching classifieds for running boards for my 02 supercrew for months and haven't found any for less than $200, which I consider too much to pay. I found a clean, cheap set from an 04-08 bodystyle that i think would look great but not sure if they'd work. Anybody use the newer ones or know if they will or won't fit? Do these mount to the body or frame? I have a bodt lift so I'm thinking i might need to fab mounts anyway. All help is appreciated!

My buddy did the same thing, he bought new model boards and it was pretty simple as long as you have access to a good drill and tips. He re-drilled pilot holes for mounting and used 4 bolts per board 2 front 2 back. He did look at a couple of different styles to ensure were he drilled holes was feesable with frame and no lines/ electrical in the way. I am unsure but he may have used a cutting tourch to knock holes ion frame.

new ones mount to the body at the pinch weld.

why not look for some aftermarket ones. im sure you could get a set of brand new ones for around 250 and new nfabs (cab length) are around 350

I had to drill new holes in the body near the pinch weld.
