F-150 won't start (kind of)...

I have a 1997 Ford F-150 4X2 with a 4.6L V8. The problem I have is when I turn the key to start, I get a clicking sound coming from the engine. If I shut the ignition off and turn the key rapidly off and on another 7-10 times, the truck will start.

I replaced the battery the other day and the positive end terminal is new. The negative end terminal is stripped, but the connection is snug.

One thing to keep in mind is that this truck is not used often and probably has put on 500 miles in the past three years. Corrosion somewhere may be a factor. Any ideas on where to start looking?

this happened to me one time but i found out it was corrosion on the terminals, but in your case its sounding like it might be a fuse
